วันนี้เข้าอบรมเพื่อสร้างความเข้าใจในเรื่อง กรอบมาตรฐานวิชาชีพ The UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF) ของ The Higher Education Academy (HEA) เรื่อง UKPSF จะเป็นเรื่องที่ม.วลัยลักษณ์ให้ความสำคัญเพื่อระบบพัฒนาสมรรถนะด้านการเรียนการสอนสำหรับอาจารย์

Framework นี้จะแบ่งออกเป็น 3 มิติ คือมิติด้านกิจกรรม(Areas of Activity) มิติด้านความรู้หลัก(Core Knowledge) และมิติด้านค่านิยมทางวิชาชีพ(Professional Values)
โดยจะแบ่งระดับผู้สอนออกเป็นสี่ระดับคือ
D1- Associate Fellow - New to teaching สำหรับคนที่ไม่เคยสอนเลย สายสนับสนุนก็สามารถเข้าสู่ catagory นี้ได้
D2- Fellow
D3- Senior Fellow เช่น ระดับหัวหน้าสาขา
D4- Principal Fellow
D1- Associate Fellow - New to teaching สำหรับคนที่ไม่เคยสอนเลย สายสนับสนุนก็สามารถเข้าสู่ catagory นี้ได้
D2- Fellow
D3- Senior Fellow เช่น ระดับหัวหน้าสาขา
D4- Principal Fellow
โดยการที่จะดูว่าเราอบู่ในระดับใดต้องดูจากรายละเอียด Descriptor ของแต่ละระดับ
เช่น ถ้าเราจะบอกว่าเราอยู่ระดับ D2 เราต้องมีหลักฐานว่าเรามีในสิ่งเหล่านี้
เช่น ถ้าเราจะบอกว่าเราอยู่ระดับ D2 เราต้องมีหลักฐานว่าเรามีในสิ่งเหล่านี้
Descriptor 2 Typical individual role/career stage Related HEA recognition
Demonstrates a broad understanding of effective approaches to teaching and learning support as key contributions to high quality student learning. Individuals should be able to provide evidence of:
I. Successful engagement across all fives areas of activity
II. Appropriate knowledge and understanding across all aspects of Core Knowledge
III. A commitment to all the Professional Values
IV. Successful engagement in appropriate teaching practices related to the Areas of Activity
V. Successful incorporation of subject and pedagogic research and/or scholarship within the above activities, as part of an integrated approach to academic practice
VI. Successful engagement in continuing professional development in relation to teaching, learning, assessment and, where appropriate, related professional practices

Individuals able to provide evidence of broadly based effectiveness in more substantive teaching and supporting learning role(s). Such individuals are likely to be established members of one or more academic and/or academic-related teams.
Typically, those likely to be at Descriptor 2 (D2) include:
a. Early career academics
b. Academic-related and/or support staff holding substantive teaching and learning responsibilities
c. Experienced academics relatively new to UK higher education
d. Staff with (sometimes significant) teaching-only responsibilities including, for example, within
work-based settings

สำหรับที่ มทส. มีคอร์สอบรมชื่อ STARS (SUT Teaching Academics Recognition Scheme) เป็น Best Practice ที่น่าสนใจเพราะทำเป็นที่แรกของประเทศไทยที่ได้รับการรับรองจาก HEA ในระดับ D1
